Week #6 Post
Habits are real... I have a personal experience with smoking. As referenced in the material The Power of Habit.
When I was just out of high school I was a smoker. I had tried everything that I new possible to quit smoking and I just could not do it. I soon realized that it was a habit and not an addiction. I had the habit of lighting up after each meal and every time that I got into my truck. So the power of habit is real. If you can develop the habit in the customers you will have a successful product.
The main business right now is the smartphone addiction. With all of the new apps that want to send you notifications is where I believe that the programmers win. My son is all about consecutive day post on snap chat to a specific friend. One of the first things that he does every day is send a snap chat to this friend so they can keep the streak going. That is the habit that sells the apps and we have thousands of them to choose from daily.
What do consumers want?
All we as consumers want is the best product at the cheapest price. The industry is changing now to where consumers are paying the service. There are times that the consumer will pay a little extra for the services to get a package deal. It is now called bundling products and services. We are again back to the social media with TV, Phone and Internet.
